Hiawatha Johnson joins Bizarre Hauntings

A polymath is a person whose expertise spans a significant number of different subject areas; such a person is known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems. This word is applicable to a true Renaissance man- Hiawatha Johnson Jr.

A few of his life roles are:

magician, father- of Meeka Johnson, writer, editor, musician, singer, dancer, choreographer, actor, (Desperate Acts of magic- 2013, Magic Camp- 2012), director, composer, teacher, professor, historian, designer and playwright.

I’m sure that a few items are left off this list. Hiawatha was also featured on the PBS documentary The Art of Magic (1998). Mr. Johnson can easily incorporate Afrocentric principles in his awe-inspiring, and engaging presentations. Of all the Black magicians currently working, Hiawatha is the epitomization of cultural and magical competency!

He serves as the accompanist and artist-in-residence for the Department of Dance at Randolph College and is special programs coordinator for Africa House Gallery & Studio in Lynchburg, Virginia.
